Actiontec claims that "TiVOs, satellite receivers, Blu-Ray Disc players, gaming consoles, HDTVs, or other DVR devices" can connect directly to the HLE20043 4 port switch and connect easily to the internet. The Actiontec HLE20043-01KP model power-line switch supports speeds up to 200Mbps; which makes it ideal for high bandwidth applications such as media streaming, or high speed gaming. The HLE20043-01KP 4 port switch is meant to be used alongside Actiontec's HLE20003-01KP ethernet extender which plugs directly into an electrical outlet.
The Actiontec HLE20043-01KP power-line 4 port switch includes additional features such as a unique Energy saving mode which Actiontec claims will save up to 60% energy when compared to normal mode, compatibility with all routers and internet gateways, 128 bit AES push button security encryption, one HLE20003-01KP ethernet adapter and two Ethernet cables bundled with the device.
