D-Link DCS-5300G

The D-Link DCS-5300G is a wireless pan/tilt/zoom network camera designed as a budget-friendly, high-grade competitor to a traditional webcam. Unlike a webcam, the network camera hosts its own CPU and Web Server, which means it can be accessed from anywhere via Internet Explorer 5.

X. In particular, the DCS-5300G upgrades from the DCS-5300 by incorporating standard Ethernet in addition to 802.11g connectivity, which means it can communicate at a wireless speed up to 54Mbps. Plus it adds VGA resolution capabilities, though the VGA capture is restricted to a slower rate of 10fps. Additional features include integrated motion detection, a microphone for capturing audio as well, and bundled software for scheduling records and triggering motion detection.
