It is designed to look like a fully functional clock, but also contains a hidden camera that connects automatically with the Logitech Command Center PC software, transmitting a video feed through the electrical system.

Viewing of the video stream can be done live, or it can be recorded for later viewing. A web interface allows for viewing of the video online. Mobile-phone text messages or emails can be sent when motion is detected. This system works with up to 6 other cameras.
