Netgear's MoCA Coax-Ethernet Adapter Kit (the MCAB1001) paralllels Powerline technology by converting existing wiring into high-speed Ethernet connections--but instead of using electrical wiring, it uses the coaxial cables used to deliver cable TV, making it the ideal product for someone looking to connect their home theatre to the internet.

The kit includes everything needed to start a network; one adapter's Coax In connecter is plugged into a wall jack while its Ethernet port is connected to an Internet router. The other adapter can be set up where it's needed, enabling  a TiVo, HDTV, receiver, Blu-Ray player or game console to plug into its Ethernet port and become part of the network, capable of sharing internet, games, storage, HD videos and more at 270 mbps. In the event that the adapter supplants your TV connection or simply blocks the coax jack, an extra Coax Out connector ensures you can reconnect the device. The MCAB1001 Kit features QoS (Quality of Service) and, besides the two MoCA Coax-EThernet adapters, includes two RG-6 Coax cables with F-type connectors, two Ethernet cables, two power adapters, a setup CD and a 1 year warranty.
