The Netgear ProSafe FS108 is one of three entry-level, FS100 series desktop switches (FS105, FS108, FS116) released in 2004. They all feature 10/100Mbps auto-sensing connectivity and plug in via Ethernet cables and a power cord.

The FS108 builds from the FS105 by adding along 3 additional UTP ports (8 total), improved bandwidth of 1.6Gbps, and a larger buffer memory of 96KB. Like its predecessor, the FS108 utilizes Auto Uplink technology to automatically determine whether the link requires a straight-through or cross-over connection. Plus each ports supports up to 200Mbps in dedicated bandwidth. Traffic flows flawlessly with automatic flow control (802.3x).
