Netgear recommends this device for small and growing business networks. Compared to 2010’s Netgear’s ProSafe FSM726-300, the older FSM726 has a smaller Layer 2 services feature set. Those in need of advanced VLAN and STP features should refer to the FSM726-300 model. Basic management features include SNMP, RMON, DHCP, and BootP. Other features include basic Static VLAN and Spanning Tree support, QoS traffic prioritization, port trunking and port mirroring. For reliability purposes, configuration files can be saved and reloaded when needed. The Netgear ProSafe FSM726 can be accessed securely through a web interface or through the command line via SSH.
