Netgear ProSafe GS748TP

The ProSafe GS748TP is a 48-port gigabit switch from Netgear's ProSafe switch series.  It is an upgrade to the GS724TP  since it features 48 10/100/1000 Mbps switching ports for non-blocking 48 Gbps bandwidth and has four combination SFP slots that can be used for fiber connectivity.

  The switch is an upgrade to the GS748T since it is PoE capable with built-in IEEE 802.3af PoE on all 24 ports and a total power budget of 384 watts.  It also offers advanced security features like ACL filtering and 802.1x port authentication.  The ProSafe GS748TP includes smart switch capabilities for managing the network with performance monitoring, VLAN, port trunking, and Class of Service functionality.  It also offers enhanced Quality of Service with rate-limiting and utilizes a web-based console for easy network management.  The ProSafe GS748TP has a suggested retail price of $1400 and comes with a limited lifetime warranty.
