The ProSafe GS748TPS is a 48-port gigabit switch from Netgear's ProSafe switch series.  The switch is an upgrade to the GS724TPS since it features 48 10/100/1000 Mbps switching ports and is PoE capable with built-in IEEE 802.3af PoE on all 48 ports.

  It also offers four built-in shared SFP slots that can be used for fiber connectivity.  The switch is an upgrade to the GS748TP since it includes true stacking support with two high-speed stacking ports.  The ProSafe GS748TPS includes advanced security features like ACL filtering and 802.1x port authentication.  It also offers enhanced Quality of Service with rate-limiting and utilizes a web-based console for easy network management.  The ProSafe GS748TPS has a suggested retail price of $1600 and comes with a limited lifetime warranty.
