Netgear XAV5501

The Netgear XAV5501 is a Powerline AV+ 500 adapter designed to extend an at-home wired network with speeds up to 500Mbps through the home’s built-in electrical outlets. Keep in mind that TWO XAV5501 units are required, as one handles the initial broadband-to-router-to-outlet connection, while the other handles the connection on the opposite side from an outlet to a gaming console, PC, or television.

The unit is completely plug-n-play, meaning no pre-installed software is required. Plus the XAV5501 comes with an Ethernet cable. Additional features include energy efficiency (auto power down on idle), auto security, and the ability to pre-test an electrical outlet connection—thereby helping users determine which one offers the greatest performance potential.
