The Netgear XAVN2001 is a Powerline AV 200 Wireless-N Extender designed to extend an at-home wireless network through the home’s electrical outlets. Keep in mind a separately purchased Powerline AV 200 Ultra Adapter (XAV2001) is required for the initial wired broadband-to-router-to-outlet connection, as the XAVN2001 handles the WiFi transmission on the other side.

Regardless, the Extender is compatible with PCs, TiVO, Slingbox, televisions, and gaming consoles. Plus it’s Plug-n-Play, meaning no software is required. More importantly, the Netgear XAVN2001 supports speeds up to 200Mbps.

I have a situatin where there are two houses on a single meter, but separate breaker panels. Due to a structural steel "cage," a wireless signal won't penetrate the walls. Will the XAVN2001allow a wireless signal to be generated from within the "cage"?
