$70.00 Released January, 2006

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Compatible with other manufacturer's powerline networking products. Single button "push to enable" functionality for security and initial connection. Extends home networks with Wi-Fi dead zones.

The Cons:200Mbps connection might not be enough for network intensive tasks such as HD video streaming. Requires the separately purchased Powerline AV 200 Ultra Adapter (XAV2001).

The Netgear XAVN2001 is a Powerline AV 200 Wireless-N Extender designed to extend an at-home wireless network through the home’s electrical outlets. Keep in mind a separately purchased Powerline AV 200 Ultra Adapter (XAV2001) is required for the initial wired broadband-to-router-to-outlet connection, as the XAVN2001 handles the WiFi transmission on the other side.

I have a situatin where there are two houses on a single meter, but separate breaker panels. Due to a structural steel "cage," a wireless signal won't penetrate the walls. Will the XAVN2001allow a wireless signal to be generated from within the "cage"? Feb 14, 11
