TRENDnet TE100-S800i

The TRENDnet TE100-S800i is an 8-port 10/100Mbps Layer 2 managed switch. This device utilizes a 3.8Gbps backplane, meaning it can connect to numerous other devices on a business network. Each of the 8 included ports are Auto-MDIX, meaning the connection type is automatically configured regardless of what kind of cable is used (straight-through or crossover).

Features include Layer 2 software management, allowing for network administrators to perform SNMP and IGMP tasks for multimedia applications such as online video streaming. Administrators can also manage individual ports by status, or implement link aggregation (“trunking”) for flexible load distribution or fail-safe redundancy purposes. The TE100-S800i can be configured via RS-232 console port, telnet, and any HTTP web browser. The device’s firmware can upgraded with a standard web browser, similar to many consumer level networking products.
